Allpress Espresso began in 1986 when Michael Allpress left his career as a chef to follow his love for traditional Italian espresso and establish one of New Zealand’s first espresso coffee companies, roasting coffee to supply local cafes. A few years later, Michael combined his talents with lifelong friend and well known Sydney restaurateur, Tony Papas to successfully open an Allpress Roastery in Sydney, again roasting locally to supply cafes in Australia. Michael and Tony also recognised the growing demand for specialty coffee in the UK and 2010 marked the opening of a local Allpress Roastery in Shoreditch, London. Now in 2013, Allpress Tokyo is on track to open.
From the very beginning of roasting coffee Michael made a decision to concentrate on flavour, so everything we do from selecting our green beans to choosing the roasting method is all about providing the best tasting, fresh roasted coffee for cafe owners and coffee lovers.
